Resumen
This article aims to show that in Paradise in the Land of Kjartan Fløgstad there is a critique of the way Scandinavians and Latin Americans perceive each other. This identity perception is based on stereotype, which builds an image of the other that is supported by prejudice. Now, although Fløgstad’s novel addresses both perceptions, the truth is that it emphasizes that of Europeans over Latin Americans, evidencing the mistreatment and marginalization that the latter experience when they migrate to the countries of the former. To achieve the objective proposed by the article, some theoretical contributions from contemporary imagology will be used.
