Resumen

Distributed leadership as a pillar of intelligent organizations trains the teaching staff in organizational empowerment. The objective was to compare the distribution of self-perceived leadership in teachers, according to the type of institutional management and the social context. The methodology was quantitative, transectional. 1,500 contracted Peruvian teachers, and teachers from the public teaching career, from 10 Local Management Units, were contacted. The results showed a higher average of leadership in privately managed educational institutions, and a better self-perception of distributed leadership in schools in non-vulnerable contexts. The strategic and incremental leadership was greater in the group of private management teachers, on the other hand, there is greater cultural leadership in teachers from vulnerable contexts. It is concluded that there is a greater distributed leadership in private educational institutions, unlike public ones, who are prevented from having access to technologies to exercise their career.
